There’s nothing worse than cracking, flaking, and peeling skin when the seasons change and the air is dry. Suddenly, your supple skin looks like a desert, and it feels like it’s impossible to moisturize enough to keep up.

How to Be Aesthetic
Looking and feeling aesthetic comes through confidence. You can navigate life more gracefully if you are comfortable with yourself. But that doesn’t mean figuring out how to reach that confidence level is easy.
Think of it like trying to find your style – you might have been trying for years to figure out what clothing suits you best. When you wear an outfit you don’t love on your body, you probably aren’t as excited to go out, even if it’s a feeling you’re internalizing from overthinking. In all likelihood, you look fantastic, but if you don’t feel it, it’s a challenge.
Your mindset shifts once you find an outfit that fits well (whether that means it accentuates your curves, hides a pooch you’re self-conscious about, or just makes you feel great). Suddenly, you can take on the world. This same concept applies to finding confidence in yourself.
What Does It Mean to Be Aesthetic?
The nature of both beauty and taste is the focus of aesthetics, which is a branch of philosophy. Aesthetics is the philosophy of art.
And as we know, art is subjective. That means something you find pleasing might be different from someone else. Your individual aesthetic is entirely up to you. Gathering a list of pampering treatments that always give our clients a confidence boost, we’re sharing ideas that you can implement in your life if you think they’ll be beneficial.
Giving in to pressure from outside sources to change your body often indicates that you’re doing it for the wrong reason. And the reason behind your decision to use various treatments is what makes all the difference. It should be a choice you make entirely for yourself to enhance your existing features. You deserve to feel better in your skin, and sometimes a trip to the med spa is the perfect solution.
Complement Your Skin and Complexion with a Hydrafacial
There’s just something about a fresh, clean face that makes you feel fantastic. And when your skin is healthy and glowing, every angle captures better for an instant aesthetic upgrade.
The general consensus is that Hydrafacial is worth it, as a popular treatment that exfoliates the skin to remove buildup and debris that clogs pores while infusing the skin with nutrients and hydration. It leaves your skin feeling firm, smooth, and looking revitalized.
Hydrafacial® Near Me in SLC
In three steps, a Hydrafacial completely refreshes your skin. Each facial is customized to you with advanced serums so that your results target any skin concerns.
First, your specialist will use the Hydrafacial device to deeply cleanse your skin, exfoliating to reveal a new layer of skin. The extraction process comes next, as impurities are removed through gentle suction before the skin is drenched with moisturizers, vitamins, and other personalized products.
If you’re in the Salt Lake City area, boost your confidence at Haus of Aesthetics – you’ll be glad you did. Our Hydrafacials are renowned for their effectiveness.
Tighten Sagging Skin with PDO Threads
The older we get, and the more our bodies change, it can become harder to adjust to our appearance. A thread lift can tighten and lift the skin, offering results similar to a facelift surgery but without being nearly as invasive. In one 45-minute treatment, you can tighten sagging skin along the:
-
Neck
-
Jawline
-
Jowls
-
Nasolabial folds
-
Under eye
-
Eyebrows
-
Marionette lines
-
Cheeks
-
Crow’s feet
PDO threads use a biodegradable polyester suture, placed into precise locations beneath the skin to tighten and lift. They rejuvenate the skin, elevated further by the collagen production that the sutures promote. Breaking down in your body after around six months, these threads can easily be placed during a lunch break, letting you get back to your day quickly.
Best of all, the threads allow your muscles to respond naturally. This means your face won’t appear frozen, instead providing a youthful refresh that smooths the skin.
How Long Do PDO Threads Last?
Depending on your age, the condition of your skin, and how your skin responds to treatment, a PDO thread lift reverses the signs of aging anywhere from one to three years. You can safely schedule one or two yearly PDO thread lifts to promote longevity.
Define Your Muscles with CoolTone
Anyone struggling with muscle definition understands that it’s not something that comes quickly, or necessarily easily. You can’t always target the exact location you’d like to tighten, and sometimes the gym just doesn’t get the job done. CoolTone strengthens muscle fibers in the treatment area, causing muscle contractions that are far stronger than you could achieve alone.
Targeting the abdomen, glutes, or thighs, you can use CoolTone to finally feel like your best self. Most patients choose anywhere from four to eight treatments depending on their goals and how their body responds to CoolTone. It takes about two to four weeks to reveal your body contouring results, and patients are welcome to schedule maintenance appointments to ensure that results are optimal.
Keeping up with your healthy diet and active lifestyle is crucial in seeing and keeping the most dramatic improvements.

*As with any cosmetic procedure, results may vary.

Summer Skin Problems & How to Fix Them
Summer Skin Problems & How to Fix Them
No matter how young or old you are, we are all trying to reveal our healthiest skin. And when the seasons change, it can feel especially difficult to maintain that aesthetic. With the help of dermatologists and experienced skin care experts, we put together some explanations of what you might be experiencing and tips on how to address skin concerns to get your skin looking its best under the scrutiny of the summer sun.
Before we dive into the best advice for overcoming summer skin problems, let’s address them. Everyone deals with their own skin concerns, and there are remedies for each one.
Dry Skin in Summer
We’ve all been there – feeling the effects of summertime on your skin in a less-than-pleasant manner. It doesn’t take much for the skin to start feeling dry and irritated. The tough part is that it seems so much easier to dry your skin out than it is to hydrate it.
Some of the common reasons that you might be experiencing dry skin in the summer include:
-
Living in a low-humidity environment
-
Swimming too often, especially in chlorinated water
-
Using harsh cleansers, shampoos, and detergents
-
Spending too much time in air conditioning
-
Working outdoors in the sun and heat
Of course, there are also considerations that extend beyond seasonality such as:
-
Atopic dermatitis (eczema)
-
Psoriasis
-
Hyperthyroidism
-
Diabetes
-
Malnutrition
-
Medical treatment side effects
-
Aging skin
No matter how it happens, dry skin can quickly become very uncomfortable. No one wants to feel scaly, or have cracking skin that bleeds and hurts while trying to enjoy the day.
And while some deal with extreme dryness, others have the complete opposite problem: Excessively oily skin.
Oily Skin in Summer
Summer heat can do more than dry your skin – it can prompt an overproduction of sebum, which leads to an oily face. Genetic disposition and hormonal changes can also impact sebum production, which might worsen in the warmer months. When it comes to the heat making your face look and feel oily, it’s because the sebaceous glands are working extra hard to produce sebum to protect your skin from drying. But that’s not always ideal. From making you feel uncomfortable, to smearing away makeup and sunscreen, oily skin can be very frustrating.
Light moisturizers, mild exfoliation, and not over-washing your face are a few things that you can try to help keep that oil under control at home.
Summer Skincare to Prevent (and Reverse) Dry Skin
Moisturize After Swimming
Monitor your exposure to chlorinated water. If you love to swim or participate in water activities, try to find great spots that don’t have chlorine as this is extremely drying to the skin. Of course, you can still enjoy the pool, just remember to rinse off afterward. No matter where you’re swimming, be sure to moisturize afterward to help replenish some of the hydration that the skin craves. And try using cleansers that are less harsh – micellar water is a good option for quickly cleansing your skin without drying it further.
Use a Protective Sunscreen Before Going Out
Whether it’s a sunny day or not, sunscreen should be a part of your daily routine. A good sunscreen will help prevent skin cancer and lessen the signs of aging that the sun causes. The thing is, not everyone knows whether to use a chemical sunscreen or a physical one. Plus, with brands advertising their products differently, it’s challenging to know whether you’ve found a sunscreen that will offer even, lasting coverage against harmful UV rays, and applies without a white cast.
We’ve been conducting physical and chemical sunscreen tests for moisturization, protection, and comfort. From our tests, one of the best sunscreens without a white cast is Supergoop, especially their lip balm sun protection.
There are some steps you can take at home to help maintain healthy summer skin. But optimal results come when you consult with professionals you trust. Treat yourself to a day at the med spa and come away with nourished skin that lasts for weeks! Not only does it feel nice to pamper yourself every so often, but you’ll be able to enjoy better results than you can typically achieve at home.
Professional Med Spa Treatments that Moisturize & Rejuvenate Skin
Depending on your concerns and goals, there are lots of options available to take care of your skin with medical-grade products. Some can even combine for optimal results – it’s up to your preferences and timeline. Let’s go through some of the most popular summer skin care treatments.
Hydrafacial for Blackheads, Rosacea & More
Before experiencing one for themselves, many people wonder if Hydrafacials are worth it. It’s a reasonable consideration with all the options available for skin treatment. The thing about this treatment, in particular, is that it covers the three most crucial steps to healthy skin in one session. And it’s safe for all skin types and tones.
A Hydrafacial brings an abundance of benefits, including:
-
Improving skin tone and texture
-
Clearing clogged pores
-
Reducing the appearance of large pores
-
Minimizing lines and wrinkles
-
Treating blackhead breakouts
-
Calming Rosacea
That means that beyond delivering moisturizing nourishment to the skin, the Hydrafacial also clears pores, reduces fine lines, and evens hyperpigmentation. Your newly replenished skin will look and feel better for weeks to come.
Of course, how often you get a Hydrafacial is completely up to you, but many enjoy pampering themselves once a month. For some, it’s a way to consistently stay ahead of skin concerns and keep things under control.
Chemical Peel for Hyperpigmentation
Did you know that chemical peels can minimize the signs of summer skin damage? Like Hydrafacials, this skincare treatment is massively popular when the weather turns warm. It’s a fast and easy way to rid your dry, dull skin of the colder months to reveal a fresh face.
Many people choose chemical peels in the summer because they provide:
-
Oil control
-
Results in a few days
-
A clearer face for less makeup
-
Damage control from last summer
Some say that a chemical peel is best for wintertime because of increased sun sensitivity. However, if you take the proper aftercare steps (like avoiding too much sun exposure) and are vigilant with your sunscreen use (as we hope you are!), there’s no reason not to try a peel in the summer. And there are several options available, so you can choose which chemical peel is best for you.
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers for Hydration
One solution that not as many people think of for dry skin is fillers. Injectable hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are phenomenal at boosting elasticity, making your skin more supple and luminous. This hydration penetrates deeply into your skin for lasting results throughout the summer. Fillers are supplementing the natural hyaluronic acid your body produces, offering more nourishment at once than you can achieve on your own.
Best of all, there’s no age limit for the moisturizing benefits of hyaluronic acid fillers. Many individuals get fillers in their 40s and beyond because the formula helps replenish volume, promote collagen production, and target specific areas of concern.
RF Microneedling Improves Skin Texture & Collagen Production
You’ve likely heard of the power of microneedling, but when you add radiofrequency energy to the mix, the results are next-level. RF Microneedling repairs skin on a topical and biological level. Treatment sessions are short with minimal downtime and lasting results.
Resurfacing the skin through RF Microneedling gets rid of dull complexion, uneven skin tone, and redness to reveal youthful, radiant skin. Compared to other laser treatments, this works wonders for nearly all skin types and tones and is safe to schedule during the summer months.
As with any cosmetic treatment, take the right protection measures for your skin afterward by applying sunscreen regularly and not spending too much time in the sun. If you do that, you can enjoy healthy skin year-round.

We Tested Popular Sunscreens So You Don’t Have To
No matter what your skincare routine is, even if you maintain a very simple regimen, it should always include sunscreen. The active ingredients within sunscreen help to filter ultraviolet (UV) rays before they can reach your skin.

WHAT ARE CHEMICAL PEELS?
WHAT’S THE BEST TYPE OF PROFESSIONAL SKIN PEEL?
Chemical peels can be a standalone treatment, the perfect option to prep for more aggressive treatment, or an add-on! We love adding chemical peels to Hydrafacials, DiamondGlow Facials, IPL photofacials, and micro-needling! Ask your provider at your next appointment to elevate your next treatment with a peel.
WHAT KIND OF CHEMICAL PEEL SHOULD I GET?
AT HAUS OF AESTHETICS, WE HAVE 3 LEVELS OF THE BEST PROFESSIONAL CHEMICAL PEELS:
- Basic Chemical peels are a great place to start. You will see the best results with a series of multiple peels. Basic Chemical Peels produce a minimal amount of peeling, and in some cases, no peeling at all! You’re truly glowing after a basic chemical peel, Great for someone who is looking for little to no downtime. These peels help with fine lines, dryness, acne, and minor pigmentation concerns.
- Intermediate Chemical peels penetrate deeper into the skin for more dramatic results. Intermediate peels come with mild to moderate peeling. These peels are for someone who’s ready to see results, with minimal downtime. Peeling usually starts on day 2 post peel and can last up to 5 days. On top of the concerns that basic peels can treat, intermediate peels are amazing for acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and wrinkles.
- Advanced Chemical peels will slough off the dull, damaged top layer of skin, revealing a smoother more even complexion. Advanced peels give our most drastic results. These peels are best for someone who is committed and ready to peel. Peeling usually starts on day 3 post peel and can last 7-10 days. Pigmentation and sunspots can darken and slough off with the peeling process. Advanced peels are the best for those with darker pigmentation, deep wrinkles, and advanced scarring. This type is also the best chemical peel for sagging skin.
What to expect?
- All chemical peels require that you limit sun exposure the week prior to and after treatment
- Discontinue use of tanning products, active skincare products such as Salicylic acid, Glycolic acid, Tretinoin and Retinoids
- Consistent at-home skincare is so important with any chemical peel. We always have recommendations if you’re not sure where to start!
- Last but not least, always wear a medical-grade SPF!
We can’t wait to see you for your next peel, your skin will thank you! Still wondering what’s the best chemical peel? Contact Haus of Aesthetics for a complimentary consultation.
