During your consultation, your provider will ask you a series of questions to verify if you are a candidate for laser hair removal. They will also go over everything you need to know to prepare for your treatments and what to expect.
Before your LHR appointment, you will need to prepare your skin at home. Here are some of our industry secrets to optimize your laser treatments at home.
INDUSTRY SECRETS:
- Dry brush before you hop in the shower at home. Moving towards your heart, lightly exfoliate your entire body.
- Once in the shower, lather your entire body using a gentle cleanser. We recommend the Lalicious shower gel on a loofa.
- Using the foam from your shower gel, shave the area moving along with the hair growth. This will help to reduce irritation and ingrown hairs.
- Rinse and pat dry.
- DO NOT apply any lotions or creams.
- Avoid self tanning or sun exposure for 2 weeks before your treatment
- Reschedule your appointment if you have taken antibiotics less than 2 weeks before your treatment.
- Avoid use of retinoids or active ingredients in the area less than 2 weeks before your treatment.
- Avoid raising your body temperature (ie. hot showers or saunas, hot pilates or intense workouts) for 3 hours prior & 24 hours post treatment.
- Do not get LHR treatments if you are pregnant or nursing.
- Do not get LHR treatments if you are prone to seizures or sensitivities to light.
